Eugenia KIM

Eugenia S. Kim is an interdisciplinary creator and practice-based researcher currently focusing on motion capture, virtual reality, and somatic movement practices. She frequently combines her experience in dance, digital archives/humanities, and multimedia art to produce both artistic and academic research output. As a Hong Kong Ph.D. Fellowship recipient, Eugenia was a Visiting Scholar at the SensiLab (Monash University). Previously, Eugenia ran her own dance company Penumbra:RME from 2013-2015.

During that time, she produced several dance concerts and received grants from the Cambridge and Somerville (Massachusetts) Arts Councils for choreography and dance history projects. She holds a Ph.D. in Creative Media from City University of Hong Kong, an M.S. in Information Science from University at Albany, and a B.S. in Electronic Media, Arts, and Communications from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Eugenia is a Lecturer of Performing Arts Research at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.
